Frequently asked questions

Whether you’ve worked with a financial adviser before or not, you may have some questions.

I've provided responses to the most common questions I receive below. Still have questions?

A patient walks into the doctor’s office with a range of symptoms and asks, “what’s the treatment and what’s this going to cost me, doc?”

The doctor is obviously going to tell the patient they need more information about the individual, they’ll need to perform tests, etc. before being able to provide a quote, right?

Look, I hate ambiguity, but I’m going to be straight with you about the cost for financial advice.

It depends.

Every person’s circumstances are different, and the type of financial advice they’re require will also vary.

Now, I know that’s not helpful at all, so let me put your mind at ease.

Evey person’s circumstances are different, and the type of financial advice they need will vary.

  • It’s our job to help you understand the ins and outs of your financial life, and to guide you through the maze of life where costly mistakes abound.

  • We’ll help you identify risks, and inspire you to make more informed decisions that will allow you to live your best life instead of spending all your time working, then wondering what happened to your money.
  • Our business is built on relationships, not transactions.

  • We’re going to need a few hours of your time (split over multiple meetings – don’t worry, we’re not asking for the same time commitment as The Lord of the Rings movies!) to better understand who you are, what’s important to you, and what we can do to help.
  • Majority of our clients are under 45 years old… Maybe 50 tops.

  • If your parents are approaching retirement, we’ll have a chat with them to see if there’s anything we help with.

  • Worst case scenario, we’ll help them find a trusted financial adviser who specialises in working with retirees.

Most people aren’t taught about how to effectively manage their money, how to invest to generate wealth, the difference between taxable and assessable income, and all of that fun stuff.

  • There are many elements to your financial life.

  • You spend thousands of hours each year working to earn money, and most don’t spend a few extra hours each year ensuring they’re making the best decisions with the money they worked tirelessly to earn.

  • Spend that time with us, and we’ll help ensure each one of those hours worked is going to be more meaningful.
  • I’d be lying if I told you we didn’t need you to fill in some paperwork. “Oh no, not more paperwork!”, I hear you saying.

  • We try to keep things as simple as possible, so we will obtain as much of the info we need as is possible if you give us the authority to do so (we’ll contact your super fund, your insurer, etc.).

  • We can go through the rest together
  • Although we primarily work with healthcare professionals, we do occasionally work with professionals in other fields.

  • If you’re not a healthcare professional but you still want inspiring financial advice from someone who truly cares about you and your financial success, reach out and let’s have a chat.

  • If we’re not the best suit, we’ll be honest with you and see what we can do to guide you in the right direction.
